The Fischer Carbonlite Hole skate ski is a leading performing cross country ski fashioned for the serious skate skier, whether you are a competitive racer or a performance oriented skier. This skate ski is for an individual looking for a top level ski that prefers lightness, ease of maneuverability, as well as a rapid ski. More metals have been won on the nordic world cup circuit on the Fischer Carbonlite Hole skate ski than any other ski this year. When you are looking to purchase the Fischer Carbonlite Hole skate ski, this ski comes in medium as well as stiff flex. A sizing chart will definitely inform you which flex to choose based upon your weight.

Skate Skis

The Fischer Carbonlite Hole skate ski has actually a built in NIS plate which allows you to move the binding forward and backward. This is optimal for varying snow conditions, differing landscapes, as well as skier preference. On hilly terrain the binding can easily be shifted forward because the skier normally sits more on the tails when skiing uphill. When it’s snowing, or with soft snow conditions, the binding are able to be moved backwards, allowing the tip to ride higher in the fluffy snow. Ordinarily the binding is situated at balance point, however this NIS plated ski, married with a NIS binding allows you the capability to change the binding’s position.

This skate ski overall weight has actually been lessened by carving out a hole in the upper end of the ski, thus the terminology “Carbonlite Hole”. The overall weight of the ski has actually been reduced by 4 ounces, which offers exceptional swing weight to the ski. This can reduce your time by almost 30 seconds in a 50k marathon. The ski is constructed with Fischer’s Air Core Technology, making it the lightest ski in Fischer’s line of nordic skis. Peter Northug, Norway’s and one of the world’s best cross country skiers, is on this skate ski. We have this skate ski in stock or you can order this Fischer skate ski Ski at www.XCSkiStore.com. This Fischer ski is also sold as part of a Fischer Race Performance Skate Ski Package.

Casco Nordic Eyewear

On those cold blustery days when one are actually out in the snow cross country skiing, sunglasses fog up, get drenched and it’s difficult to see. The cross nation ski world has discovered a resolution – nordic goggles that sit above the nose as well as swivel up. Biathletes first began utilizing theses ski goggles, made by Casco, a German company. At that point the expert cross country skiers discovered them. The biathletes are actually huge devotees because they right now do not need to take away their glasses when shooting. Casco, has actually been actually making the Casco Nordic Spirit (Spirit) as well as Casco Nordic Spirit Competition (Competition) for several years right now. This year Casco has come out with a brand-new item, the Nordic Spirit II Carbonic. Like the Spirit as well as Nordic Competition, the Spirit II Carbonic is best for skiing on those windy, snowy days. The Casco eyewear serves as both a ski visor as well as sunglasses. All three items are produced in a headband that supports a hung down lens, permitting airflow between the face as well as the lens to decrease fogging. Sunglasses tend to fog up and get snow covered when out skiing as well as these items gets the better of this complication.

The lens is actually made up of a tough impact resistant material, that is actually even chemically immune. This will definitely protect against scratching as well as damages to the lens making use of wax remover, klister, or waxes. The material was originally fashioned for the Apache helicopter windshield, as well as is actually even water repellent. Throughout a snow storm, one can wear these goggles and water will bead off the lens enhancing visibility. The eyewear also swivels up in 2 situations so it are able to also be actually used as a visor if snow is actually coming down at an angle.

The fundamental distinction between these 3 products: (1) Casco Spirit, (2) Casco Spirit Competition as well as (3) the new Nordic Spirit II Carbonic is actually the lenses. The new Spirit II pertains with 3 lenses– clear, amber as well as a photochromatic. The photochromatic lens changes in transforming light. The Competition comes with two lenses: clear as well as photochromatic. The Spirit also comes with 2 lenses: amber and clear. All three items provide anti-reflection mirror lenses. The lenses are optically first-rate to sunglasses, and offer sharper images since of their lower refractive index. The headband comes in two colors: black and white as well as are made in two sizes- medium, and large. Most heads fit the medium.

Nordic skiers as well as biathletes who utilize these Casco visors adore the lightness of eyewear because they are actually practically 15 per cent lighter than other eyewear. Casco’s extraordinary ability to swivel the lenses upward without getting to eliminate the eyewear from the head is actually a big sensation and skiers adore that they accomplish not fog up. The anti-fog technology and the binary lenses additionally makes this item extremely in demand. Come into our store or shop online at if you are considering purchasing a Casco Nordic eyewear.

Cross country skiers enjoy the Women’s and Men’s Sporthill XC Ski Pants for xc skiing as well as other outdoor sports. This pant in particular is ideal for cold weather athletics. The patented 3SP fabricis warm as well as is the fastest drying textile made.

SportHill is a North American based business that has been sponsoring Canadian and US cross country skiers since 1993. A number of Olympians, featuring North America’s first Gold Medal winner in nordic skiing Beckie Scott in 2002 as well as 2006 cross country ski Gold Medal winner Chandra Crawford and Silver Medalists Beckie Scott and Sara Renner for cross country skiing as well that same Olympics.

The Olympic Canadian Nordic Ski Team, USA Mountain Running Team, as well as Olympic development teams XC Oregon as well as Team XO all enjoy SportHill clothes.

3SP XC Pant – Women’s & Men’s

The Women’s and Men’s XC Ski Pant is part of a Zone 3 xc ski pants – excellent for cold, windy days with temperatures between 0 F to FORTY F. Lots of wear long underclothing under the ski pants when temps are especially cold – these pants have space for layers. SportHill’s special 3SP® will definitely keep you warm and dry. The 3SP textile is soft next to the skin, fast drying, long lasting, wick moisture as well as is windproof up to 35 mph.

The XC Pant presents a flat front stitch that sits at the natural waist which indicates you can easily wear them and still be trendy. One female even stated that she occasionally wears them out to dinner! The XC Pant has a relaxed fit, by having space at the hips and thighs. The leg is the classic tapered-leg fit as well as has a non-roll pliable waistband with a drawstring, by having 2 side zip pockets, and a 12-inch ankle zipper. The 3SP® fabric is made of 85 % polypropylene and 15 % Lycra and is machine washable.

Features:

Non-roll flexible waistband by having drawstring

2 side seam zip pockets

Pants sits at natural waistline

12-inch ankle zippers

Classic front crease stitch

Flatlocked inseam

XC® SportHill suede patch

Exactly what makes 3SP ® Fabric Unique?

The 3SP fabric’s magic lies in the yarn. This yarn is the most hydrophobic (water hating) yarn manufactured today, even more than wool. If your pants have water soaked in a heavy, wet snow, the textile still dries exceptionally rapidly. This fabric is additionally breathable, and supplies insulation against the cold, excellent for winter sports.
The fabric is woven so that it is windproof throughout, not just on the front panel of the pants, and is windproof up to 35 mph. The soft interior as well as added stretch makes the XC Pant soft as well as comfy. This is the ultimate solitary layer defense for damp, cold as well as extreme conditions. This pant as well as additional 3SP pants, featuring the Women’s Traverse II, and the Male’s Terrain as well as ATV II supply all the advantages of layering in one cross country ski pant: warmth control, moisture control as well as wind protection. This ski pant is offered at www.XCSkiStore.com and at our retail shop in Mammoth Lakes, CA.

The sizing charts provide general guidelines for the typical skier. When selecting a size, remember there may be additional factors that can affect which size would be ideal for you. Varying factors include experience, skier height, and specific snow conditions. Size up for higher ability or size down if inexperienced or if skiers are going into hillier terrain. If you have questions don’t hesitate to call and we can help you select the right equipment for your needs.

A shorter ski is easier to control and more maneuverable. A longer ski will provide better glide.

It’s early November and there is snow in Mammoth at the higher elevations. On Sunday we headed up to the Tamarack Cross Country Ski area with our backcountry skis and cut trail around Lake Mary and the side trails. Snow was much better than the Friday before, since it had been cold and the blacktop underneath remained cold.

We skiied for 3 hours, seeing some of the regulars from the Mammoth nordic community up there as well. Rumors have it that the mountain will be grooming up to Minaret Summit soon. Last year we skiied early season up there before Tamarack opened for the season. Nothing like starting your ski season at 9,000 feet! Skiing above Main Lodge may be good for skate skiing if they groom regularly and it doesn’t get too warm during the day. Let’s hope the snow stays and more snow will come!
