Cross Country Ski Events in Mammoth – 2016/17 Season

We have a fantastic lineup of nordic events this season here in Mammoth Lakes. Check back for periodic updates as we get news of other cross country ski events

Cross Country Ski Races:


Tannenbaum 10km Classic • December 11, 2016
The first race of the season is an event for the entire family, offering classic skiing distances from 1–10km, including a family fun race.

Lakes Basin 15km Skate • January 15, 2017
Work those glutes a little harder with a longer distance and skinnier skis. This is a race for everyone offering distances from 1–15km.

Allan Bard 20km Classic • February 5, 2017
A mid-season race to show off your new skills and endurance. This classic race is a memorial to local mountaineer Allan Bard and is often a Junior Nationals qualifier.

Mammoth Marathon 42km • April 2, 2017
The Big Daddy of them all – the annual marathon offering distances from 2–42km. Open to classic and skate skiing.

Mammoth Biathlon • March 17-19, 2017
The Mammoth Biathlon combines cross country skiing with rifle shooting in a fun yet competitive race that takes place at Reds Lake near Chair 14 on Mammoth Mountain.  Cited as the highest elevation biathlon race in North America.
